Hello world and Happy New Year to you all! I hope that you had the most wonderful Christmas and feel pumped for the new term.
Every Christmas, I indulge to my heart’s content. Between Christmas Eve and New Year’s Day, I’ll eat what I want when I want. And that’s okay – that’s good! It’s what Christmas is about. Saying that, 2018 comes round quickly, and I love kick starting it properly and giving my body a little bit of TLC. Because of this, let me introduce to you the ongoing theme of my January recipes…I’m really excited to take you on a health kick with me throughout January. I’m going to show you some wicked recipes that fill your body with the good stuff. It’s actually one of my favourite times of the year to cook; you can create some really delicious dishes with minimal effort. I really enjoy experimenting, and I hope you will come across healthy dishes this month that you’ve never seen before.
So what does the start of my year consist of? Let me fill you in. Come 1st January, I lay off the carbs and bulk out my food with healthy fats and veg. I also give myself a kick up the arse when it comes to exercise, and try to get down the swimming pool every couple of days. I don’t claim to be an athlete, but anything that gets me out and active is good by my watch. On these days, I will reward myself with a carby meal – this may be breakfast (like oats or avo on toast), lunch (a good ol’ sandwich) or dinner (PASTA!). Ultimately, for me, January is about cutting out the junk and giving my body the love it deserves. It clears up my skin, boosts my health and shifts a bit of festive timber. I’m going to share with you 12 recipes including breakfast, lunch and dinner. As always with my recipes, they’ll be easy on the wallet, speedy to prep and super good for you.
I have started planning some of the recipes and am buzzing by what I’ve got in mind, but still have a lot to conjure up. If you have any requests or suggestions, as always, please get in touch! Slide into my DMs on Insta (@putthepotnoodledown) or drop me an email – G.Tuvey@warwick.ac.uk. I love hearing from you.
I was proud to have lost 1 stone last January, and I’m confident that I can do it again this year. This isn’t some kind of fad diet, or even a set of strict guidelines that you’re comitted to following. It’s a philosophy, a way of life and something from which I hope you will find much enjoyment. The first step, though, is to have a little belief in what you can achieve. Have a fantastic January, look after yourself and enjoy your food.
Peace and love,
